## AI Agents for Consumers // Shaun Wei // MLOps Podcast #244

There’s an old saying, ‘fight fire with fire’. While it cost my dad his job as a firefighter, it seems to have inspired Shaun.

He talked about how he’s using GenAI and traditional ML to automate customer service phone calls – for the customer. He shares how it uses NLP, NLU, and parallel processing to ensure real-time responsiveness. It also processes multiple data streams and incorporates fallback mechanisms for reliability. Additionally, he discussed using an event bus architecture for real-time event handling and custom perception models for accurate data interpretation.

An easy call to make, this episode is 🔥

## AIQCON

AIQCON was great.

But working with AI models, you know all about bias. So, don’t just take my word for it, here’s some additional data to process:

## CV with Fashion Colors // Kelsey Pedersen // MLOps Community IRL Meetup #84 Silicon Valley

## MLOps Community IRL Meetup

The current fashion in AI seems to be RAGs, but this talk is cut from a different cloth.

This talk details the technical methods used at Capsule to automate the extraction of color from images including the application of traditional machine learning algorithms and the latest multimodal models to identify and categorize fashion products thoroughly. The talk also covers questions about catalog data sourcing, enhancing user recommendations, recognizing patterns, and handling multicolor items.

Stitching together style and machine learning: a perfect fit.

## Sentiment Analysis and Topic Trends in Endometriosis Reddit Communities Using LLMsMany of us use AI for both work and personal projects, and this one is particularly meaningful. This blog explores analyzing Reddit posts using LLMs to gain insights into endometriosis, an underfunded and poorly understood chronic illness. The project aimed to identify practical advice for managing daily life and preparing for surgery. Data cleaning and integration were performed to combine posts and comments. Embeddings were generated using the Nomic model, clusters visualized with Atlas, and topics named using mixtral-8x22b-instruct. An insightful read, and not just because it shows Reddit can be useful. With thanks to Apurva Misra for their contribution. Building a Serverless Application with AWS Lambda and Qdrant for Semantic Search

PSSSST… now I’ve got your attention, I want to tell you about this Powerful Serverless Semantic Search Solutions Tutorial…

This guide outlines creating a serverless semantic search application for academic papers using AWS Lambda, Qdrant, LangChain, and OpenAI embeddings. A Dockerized Lambda function handles search queries, deployed via AWS ECR, with an API Gateway endpoint for external interaction and a Streamlit app for a user-friendly interface.

Remember, next time you’re struggling with semantic search, don’t get angry, get PSSSST.

With thanks to Benito Martin for their contribution.
